About Us

Whole Hog Brief is written by a small team of industry experts situated across the world and with the Editor, Dr John Strak,  in the UK and in the GMT time zone. We publish monthly and have been publishing since 1999. Since then we have correctly forecast every turning point in the global pig price cycle - no-one else has a track record like that.

Our analysts collate and check the data, create the tables and charts, and make comments or forecasts in order to compile a regular 12 pages of pig industry information that keeps the reader well informed. Our aim is to give the reader a regular and accurate check on what is happening in the global pig industry - easy to read but packed with facts and figures. We do not take advertising and we don't try and produce instant headlines but we can react quickly to questions about the impact on pig prices of disease, natural disaster, or man-made events. We have a great track record of interpreting data and how government policies can affect the industry's margins, supply, demand, and trade. Our overiding aim is to give you accurate information and analysis and to help you avoid data overload. The internet and web gives us all instant data and Whole Hog Brief  is your route to turning that data into commercially useful information about the global pig industry and pork market.

They all want the same thing - an insight into the market  and a reliable and regular check on what is happening to their suppliers or customers or members. Our pages aim to be factual but easy to read and to give our readers ALL the info they need to understand how the global pigmeat market is behaving  - that why we call it The Whole Hog.
