We put our Latest Headlines on the site from the most recent issue of Whole Hog Brief so you will know what we are covering this month - we suggest you register on the site and we will email you when these headlines are changed each month as new issues are published. You can also follow our Editor's Tweets by following @johnstrak

The Editor's Blog is refreshed 2 or 3 times a month depending on the news and we Tweet from @johnstrak when a new Blog is published - and we email those registered on our site.

The first page of the September 2018 issue presents a review of the latest (September) US Hogs & Pigs report. Page 2 reports on the June/July North American (US and Canada) census. Page 3 reports the global pig price cycle. Page 4 presents the EU pig price data for September 2018 and export trade data for July 2018. Page 5 presents the export numbers for Canada – they are not positive. On page 6 the USA’s exports have also slowed – Trump’s tariffs are hitting the value of exports. On page 7 Australia’s trade data show exports growing, strongly, whilst imports have fallen back. Page 8 reports on the trend for Japanese demand for imported pork. Page 9 reports on growth in the South Korean market in August. Page 10 reports on the Chinese market: prices continue to rise. Page 11 presents short news items covering: Marfrig, Danish Crown, Tulip, VION, APL, KORUS, NAFTA-USMCA, Belgium ASF, Japan CSF, Brazil exports, Germany castration, EU provisional census.

On the back page there is the price monitor for 18 countries and the chart of the week – ASF outbreaks in Belgium, and the short view of pig prices in the USA, EU and China in the next four weeks.
